Reconnect to You

Centering shape = Belly down savasana with a blanket folded into a long rectangle positioned under the low ribs. This provides an elevation to the back line of the body where the thoracic and lumbar meet.

  • As you lay down, release any tension in upper body – shoulders, head, neck and lower body – legs and feet.
  • Focus on your breathing and notice the expansion of breath in the back of the body. Practice anapana or simple observation of the breath with the feedback of the blanket underneath you.
  • Allow your full attention, mind and body, to follow the single pathway of the in and out breath.
  • Let your body feel heavy into the Earth and see if you can get just a little bit more comfortable.

Intention for Class = It is time to reconnect to yourself and your practice. This might be a time when you are just starting your yoga journey or you may have taken a break from your practice. Even if you practice has been consistent, it is nice to take a step back and make sure your actions on and off the mat are serving you.

We come to the mat to connect with the breath, to calm the mind down and be grounded in the present moment. Unplugging from distractions, disconnecting from your busy life to refresh, recharge and reset. Focusing on self-care in order to have compassion and kindness to give to others.
